The Ethel Higginbottom School & College was started in the year 1991. The school is named after the wife of Mr. Sam Higginbottom who is the founder of the Sam Higginbottom Agriculture University Naini Prayagraj. Mrs. Ethelind Higginbottom is a great humanitarian, an icon of sacrifice, compassion and affection. She served the denizen of Allahabad (Now Prayagraj) for forty-one years. She gained recognition for her tenacity and commitment to welfare of the under privileged and children. In order to appreciate and honor her services the school has been named as Ethel Higginbottom School & College.

The school was shifted to its present sprawling campus in the year 1998 when a new campus was build under the leadership of the present Vice- Chancellor Honorable Dr. R. B. Lal. The school has a state of art building with picturesque lush green surroundings. The school provides a high-tech Air-Conditioned campus with all the imaginable facilities required for the overall growth and development of children. It boasts of a well stalked library, modern computer lab, fully equipped laboratories with latest scientific equipment, wifi campus along with the latest sports infrastructure.
